WHOAMI (with the collaboration of Hypoikòn)

WHOAMI is a self-identifying mirror based on an interactive application written in Python that detects the presence of the visitor through computer vision.

The act of recognizing its own image in a mirror is the hallmark of self-consciousness, the vantage point of looking at reality. The experience of recognition is thus the origin of the identity of every individual, any perturbation that alters this points of view is perceived as irregularities that have to be normalized beacuse it is experienced by the observer as an exception to the ordinary logic and linear perception of the self.

WHOAMI reproduces the confusion generated by this experience where the unexpected bursts on the scene of the senses, disorienting and creating the conditions of the doubt.
