Pathline #1 è un’opera audiovisiva realizzata da Franz Rosati e Leila Bahlouri. Una creatura virtuale con comportamento, suono e forma propri, viene utilizzata come sintesi metaforica per rappresentare la mutazione dal paesaggio naturale organico al paesaggio urbano artificiale. La struttura visuale, composta da semplici punti e linee, rimanda alla forma e ai colori di agglomerati vegetali come le fronde di un albero o i sedimenti di muschio, e subisce una trasformazione regolata da quelle leggi naturali in costante equilibrio tra caos e ordine, attraverso tre fasi in cui il suono da voce alla tensione della struttura che cambia. Spasmi, torsioni, vibrazioni e rotazioni vorticose, generano i suoni distorti e impazziti della natura, oppressi dal rumore della città che respira, attraversando crescendo dinamici e ritorni improvvisi al silenzio. Le distribuzioni probabilistiche e la teoria del caos, diventano lo strumento tecnico necessario per la rappresentazione di un concetto nascosto nella quotidianità ma tuttavia presente come immutabile legge fuori dal tempo.

Pathline #1 an audiovisual work is made by Franz and Leila Rose Bahlouri. A virtual creature with his own behavior, sound and form, is used as a metaphor to represent the mutation synthesis by natural organic to the artificial urban landscape. The visual structure, consisting of simple dots and lines, refers to the shape and colors of the foliage plants such as clusters of a tree or moss sediment, and undergoes a transformation governed by the laws of nature in a constant balance between chaos and order, through three phases in which the sound of voice changing the voltage of the structure. Twitching, twisting, whirling vibrations and rotations, generate distorted and insane sounds of nature, overwhelmed by the noise of the city that breathes, through dynamic and growing returns to the sudden silence. The probability distributions and the chaos theory, become the technical device necessary for the representation of a concept hidden in everyday life but nevertheless present as an immutable law out of time.

Franz Rosati  è sound/visual artist, musicista elettroacustico ed esperto di tecnologie interattive residente a Roma, principalmente interessato ad un’estetica che rappresenti la discontinuità e l’organicità di processi non lineari e caotici, sviluppa il software necessario per la propria produzione musicale e visuale. Con questa idea a cavallo tra musica algoritmica, noise e soundscape composition, volta a trasferire in musica i rapporti e le leggi matematiche nascoste nella natura, porta avanti progetti in solo come Franz Rosati o NZ e con musicisti acustici e di differenti estrazioni come “gridshape” con il chitarrista Francesco Saguto. Ha aperto concerti di musicisti quali Pan Sonic e Frank Bretschneider ed ha portato i propri lavori come performance, installazioni o screenings in festival europei ed internazionali. È fondatore dell’etichetta Nephogram [Contemporary Documents] con cui pubblica lavori di artisti legati allo studio sul paesaggio sonoro senza trascurare però le possibili forme di contaminazione attualmente inevitabili.

Franz Rosati is sound/visual artist, musician and electroacoustic interactive technology expert based in Rome, mainly interested in aesthetics, which represents the discontinuity of the organic and non-linear and chaotic processes, develop the software necessary for its own production and music vision. With this idea at the turn of algorithmic music, noise and soundscape composition, aimed at bringing music into the hidden mathematical relationships and laws in nature, carries out projects in NZ and only as Franz Rosati and acoustic musicians and different backgrounds as “gridshape “with guitarist Francis Saguto. He has opened concerts for artists such as Pan Sonic and Frank Bretschneider, and brought their work as performances, installations and screenings at festivals in Europe and international. He is the founder of the label Nephogram [Contemporary Documents] which publishes works by artists associated with the study of the soundscape but without neglecting ‘the possible forms of contamination currently unavoidable.
