RETINA VIDEO FESTIVAL
SCREENING

Retina video festival is an exhibition about contemporary video productions video–art, collected from all over the world.

The virtual dimension interacts more and more with real life thanks to digital technologies, it is therefore necessary to think about the production of visual works as a representative phenomenon of evolving trend drawing near global and local approaches, mass production, high level of customization and political dependency centralization and practices of self-sufficiency and decentralization.

The goal is to probe the contemporary search of potential that will dial the near future.

Digital technologies appear to have definitely accentuated the nature of video art like something fluid and not categorizable. We are currently witnessing a production that draws as much from the language of film and television as from the home made.

It is in this nebula that Retina feeds; this segment is not yet cataloged, so Retina intends to be its showcase. A dynamic showcase, showing and reflecting at the same time, on current expressions and variations of video–art.
