Mathon

Questo collettivo musicale prende il nome da una località pittoresca nelle Alpi svizzere, dove dal 2003 i membri fondatori e gli ospiti invitati hanno iniziato a tradurre i suggestivi dintorni del paesaggio in musica. Il progetto concettuale è la musica d’ambiente attraverso la sua definizione originale: lo spazio diventa suono e genera lo spazio. In questo modo quattro album sono state registrati insieme da Ronny Spiegel, Maria Capelli, Nocolas Kellner e Maurice de Martin. Il loro ultimo album, Terrestre, è stato rilasciato nel mese di aprile 2011 con il remix di Steinbrüchel, Kenneth Kirschner, Digitalis e i8u tra gli altri.
La loro musica è stata anche trasformata in video nelle installazioni di etoy.com e ZKM, mentre un’applicazione multitouch di visualizzazione sonora per Mathon, GRID, è stata realizzata nel 2011 da Futura-epsis1.com tramite iOS-AppStore. Poche sono le loro performance europee dal vivo accompagnate dai video di Andreas Rothaug.

This sound collective takes its name from a picturesque location in the Swiss Alps, where founding members and invited guests have been gathering since 2003 to translate the impressive surroundings into music. The conceptual project is ambient music by its original definition: space becomes sound and sound generates space. This way four albums have been recorded, together with Ronny Spiegel, Maria Capelli, Nocolas Kellner and Maurice de Martin. Their latest album, Terrestre, was released in April 2011 with remixes by Steinbrüchel, Kenneth Kirschner, Digitalis and i8u among others.
