Rudi Punzo

Non concerto, non performance e non improvvisazione, il termine ‘Happening’ descrive meglio l’intervento di Rudi Punzo il 28 di Agosto alle 23:00 a Flussi Festival 2012.
Uno stato di alterazione della coscienza indotto naturalmente, quello che negli anni ’70 per un breve periodo si è chiamato ‘naturally high’ o più localmente TRANCE e che non può essere racchiuso in definizioni di stile o genere se non, forse, con riferimenti a DRONES o BOTS comunque una metamusica che coinvolge almeno due sensi simultaneamente, vista e udito ed il quarto stato dimensionale, il Tempo, come perdita del senso dello stesso.
Nell’intento dell’artista lo stesso senso di coinvolgimento ed estraniamento totale che lo sommerge nell’atto dell’esecuzione dovrebbe sopraffare il pubblico.
Sotto diverso nome – a seconda delle evoluzioni – questo traguardo è stato inseguito negli anni nei più disparati angoli del mondo, iniziando con i primi esperimenti elettroacustici dei“Sound Cycles – Cicli Sonori” nel 2000, passando alle differenti versioni delle “Rudi Machines” protomeccanico- elettroniche che diventeranno “ The Rudimachines and the Fireflies” con i primi robots fotovoltaici ritmici tra il 2005 e il 2006 e le prime uscite estere – Germania, Austria, Romania ed Ungheria per passare a “CYBERDRONYX”, presentata negli USA e in Russsia nel 2008 e in Scandinavia nel 2009  e di nuovo a New York ed in Brasile nel 2010 e 2011; a Boston nel 2011 si chiama MUM – Manned and UnManned (Music Generators) così come all’ LPM- Live Performers Meeting di Roma nel Maggio 2011 e finalmente, come “Robots Against War” al primo Peace and Art International Festival nella DMZ – DeMilitarized Zone in Goseong, Corea del Sud, il 20 Maggio 2012.

Non concerto, is the “Rudi Punzo’s tribute to Flussi Festival 2012 on August 28th at around 23:00h – is going to be, in the artist wishes, a ‘Happening’, more than a ‘Concert’, a ‘Performance’ or an ‘Impro’. Say an attempt to alter the audience’s perception of reality, creating a drug-free psychedelic  experience: what was called a “Naturally High” trip, in the 70’s, or TRANCE in other cultures and environments. The same sense of involvement which overwhelms the artist whilst performing should as much overwhelm the audience.
Differently named-accordingly with succeeding evolutions – this goal has been pursued in many different locations around the world during the last years, starting with the first electroacoustical experiences called “The Sound Cycles”, 2000,  passing through the varying versions of  the “Rudimachines” – protomechanical – electronic performances that will evolve into “ The Rudimachines and The Fireflies” ( with the original photovoltaical rhythmical  robots)  between 2005 and 2006 and the first abroad tours ( Germany, Austria, Romania and Hungary), upgrading into “CYBERDRONYX”, showed in the USA and Russia in 2008 and Scandinavia  in 2009 and again in NYC and Brazil in 2010 and 2011; in Boston, 2011,  it was MUM – Manned and Un Manned ( Music Generators ) such as at LPM – Live Performers Meeting in Rome on May 2011 and finally, as “Robots Against War” at the first Peace and Art International Festival in the DMZ – The De Militarized Zone in Doseong, South Korea, on May 20, 2012.
