Dadub

Dadub è l’incontro di due menti, Daniele Antezza e Giovanni Conti… il risultato? Uno dei migliori live act in circolazione e l’innovativo Artefacts Mastering studio. La collaborazione non è iniziata in Italia, ma a Berlino, dove Dadub è diventato un duo. Uniti dalla passione per il processing, e un amore per gli esperimenti sul mixer di Lee Scratch Perry, prendono il dub e lo spingono negli angoli più profondi della techno e ai margini dell’ambient. Frustrati dai suoni sempre uguali della musica elettronica usano le loro conoscenze tecniche al servizio della ricerca di innovazione: è esattamente questo tipo di disciplina, il loro uso di strategie aperte che rende il live di Dadub così dinamico. Stratificano dub e sintesi, il materiale viene decostruito e ricostruito spontaneamente. I loro set sono davvero profondi e hanno fatto il giro del mondo, al Sonar Festival di Barcellona, Melt! festival in Germania e nei vari club da Berlino a Mosca e New York. C’è qualcosa di alchemico in Dadub sia dal vivo, su disco o quando lavorano in studio: e considerando i loro mix per CLR o Electric Deluxe, è chiaro che quando hanno spazio e lavorano sulla lunghezza sono davvero ambiziosi.

Dadub is a meeting of two minds, Daniele Antezza and Giovanni Conti. The result is one of the best live acts in the scene and the innovative Artefacts Mastering studio. The collaboration started not in their native Italy, but in Berlin, where Dadub became a two-man project. Twinned by a fascination of process, and a love of Lee Scratch Perry’s mix board experiments, they take dub and push it into the deepest corners of techno and out to the ambient fringes. Frustrated by identikit sounds in electronic music they set about pouring their technical knowledge together in search of innovation. It’s exactly this type of discipline, their use of open strategies that makes Dadub so dynamic live. Live they layer dubbing and synthesis, they take Dadub material and deconstruct or reconstruct it spontaneously. Their sets are seriously deep and have been showcased internationally at Barcelona’s Sonar festival, Germany’s Melt! festival and in clubs from Berlin to Moscow and New York. There’s something alchemical about Dadub whether live, on record or when commanding the studio. And when considering their mixes for CLR or Electric Deluxe, it’s clear that when given space and length they’re ambitious.
